Boyd joined CMCG in October 2009. As Senior Vice president for Reviews and Audits, she is responsible for coordinating all facets of the reviews for the United States Marshals Services, Prisoner Operation Division as well as for Prison Rape Elimination Act Audits (PREA). Prior to joining CMCG, Ms. Boyd spent more than 20 years with the South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC) where she began her career as a correctional officer and promoted through the ranks to Regional Director. During her SCDC career, she held positions of counselor, deputy warden and warden. Ms. Boyd also served as Manager of the Women’s Section of the Greenville County Detention Center for three years. In 1993, she was appointed to serve as a member of the governor’s cabinet as Director of the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice. Ms. Boyd served as Director for six years. After retiring from state government, she served as Director of the Kershaw County Detention Center, Camden, South Carolina for 7 years. Ms. Boyd received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from South Carolina State University and did graduate studies at Clemson University. She is a US Department of Justice certified PREA Auditor. Ms. Boyd is the recipient of numerous awards including the highest award in the State of South Carolina the “Order of the Palmetto”, the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice’s William H Hastie Award and the SC Governor’s Commission on Women “Women of Achievement”. In 2007, Ms. Boyd was selected “Jail Administrator of the Year” by the SC Jail Administrators’ Association.
